Sea Salt Versus Table Salt
Question: What is the difference between sea salt and regular table salt?
Answer: Both sea salt and regular table salt contain the same amount of sodium (about 40%). While sea salt is harvested by taking seawater and evaporating the water and leaving salt, table salt is mined and refined from underground deposits. Table salt also contains iodine, a necessary mineral for our bodies. We only need about 1,500 mg of sodium per day, so whether you use sea salt or iodized salt, keep an eye on your intake.
